GEDSI Audit

An assessment of how inclusive a local government's policies, budgets, structures and services are for women, persons with disabilities and marginalised groups.

Local governments in Nepal are required to carry out a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) audit every year, following the Gender Audit Procedure, 2080 (2023) issued by the Government of Nepal.

We facilitate the whole process — from reviewing policies, plans, budgets and institutional arrangements to running the audit workshop with elected leaders, executive members and heads of department — and prepare the audit report with priorities for the coming year. We have facilitated GEDSI audits of Narainapur Rural Municipality (Banke) and Gurans Rural Municipality (Dailekh).
