Social Audit

A structured review of an institution's services, finances and governance, with findings shared openly with the people it serves.

A social audit checks whether public institutions — municipal offices, schools, health institutions — deliver what they promise. We review documents, collect information from staff and service users, and present the findings in a public meeting so improvements are agreed openly.

For example, we carried out the social audit of the health institutions of Gurans Rural Municipality for FY 2082/83: document review and information collection, interviews with service recipients, meetings with management committees, and dissemination of the final report.
