Public Hearing

Independent facilitation of public hearings where citizens question their local government about services, budgets and plans — and hear the answers in public.

A public hearing (सार्वजनिक सुनुवाइ) brings elected representatives, staff and citizens together in one open forum. Service users ask questions and raise complaints; the local government explains its work and makes commitments that can be followed up.

We plan each hearing with the municipality and ward office, make sure women, Dalit, persons with disabilities and other marginalised groups can take part, moderate the discussion neutrally and document every question and answer. We have facilitated public hearings in all eight wards of Gurans Rural Municipality, Dailekh, as well as at municipal level.
